Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you might want to know before booking a tattoo with us. If your question isn’t here, message us on Facebook or Instagram, or email [email protected].
General
Where is Omom Tattoo Studio located? We’re at 575 Protacio, Pasay City, Metro Manila. We’re open daily from 8am to 6pm.
What tattoo styles do you specialise in? Realism is our focus — both colour and black-and-grey. That covers portraits, animals, religious and symbolic pieces, and detailed scenes. We also do cover ups and fully custom designs of all kinds.
Do you do small or simple tattoos? Yes. Alongside larger realism work, we do scripts, lettering, and smaller pieces.
Booking & appointments
How do I book an appointment? Message us on Facebook or Instagram, or email [email protected] with your concept, rough size, and placement. We’ll talk it through and plan from there.
Do you accept walk-ins? We work by appointment, and for health and safety reasons we don’t take unannounced walk-ins. You’re always welcome to message us first to check current availability.
How far in advance should I book? We’d suggest reaching out 2–3 weeks before your preferred date. Detailed and custom pieces need time to design properly before the session.
What information should I send when I enquire? Your concept, any reference images you like, the rough size, and where on the body you’d like it. For a cover up, include a clear, well-lit photo of the existing tattoo.
Pricing
How much does a tattoo cost? Every piece is custom, so there’s no fixed price list. Cost depends on the size, the level of detail, the placement, and how many sessions it needs. We’ll give you a clear quote once we’ve talked through your concept.
Why don’t you list prices online? Because no two custom pieces are the same. Quoting properly means understanding the design first — we’d rather give you an honest figure for your actual tattoo than a misleading number.
Design
Can you copy a photo or another tattoo exactly? We design custom work rather than copy a single image. Photos aren’t built for skin, so we combine several references and rework the composition so it reads clearly and fits your body. You’re welcome to bring references — they help us understand what you’re after.
Will I see the design before my session? Yes. We usually present a couple of design directions, then refine the one you connect with until you’re happy. Nothing goes on skin before the design and stencil are settled.
Can you cover up an old tattoo? In most cases, yes. A cover up needs to be larger and darker than the original, and very dark or solid tattoos sometimes need laser fading first. We’ll assess yours honestly — see our cover up tattoos page for how it works.
The session
Does getting a tattoo hurt? There’s some discomfort — how much depends on the placement and your own tolerance. Bonier areas tend to feel more than fleshier ones. We work at a comfortable pace and take breaks when you need them.
How long does a tattoo take? It depends entirely on size and detail. A small piece may be a single short session; a large realism piece is usually built over several sessions. We’ll give you a realistic plan when we discuss the design.
How should I prepare for my appointment? Get a good night’s sleep, eat beforehand, and stay hydrated. Avoid alcohol the night before, and wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
Aftercare
How do I look after a new tattoo? We’ll give you specific aftercare instructions on the day — follow those first. In general: keep it clean, moisturise as directed, and avoid sun, soaking, and swimming while it heals.
How long does a tattoo take to heal? The surface usually settles within about two weeks, with deeper healing taking longer. For larger and colour pieces, we like to see a healed photo and handle any touch-ups once it’s settled.
