Aaron Olaguivel: Colour Realism Full Series

A complete look into how Aaron works through a colour realism tattoo — from the thinking behind it to the finished, healed result.

Aaron Olaguivel Colour Realism Full Series

This isn't a polished production with a marketing team behind it. It's Aaron sitting down and sharing what he's figured out over the years — his setup, his process, his colour theory, and how he actually executes a full colour realism piece from blank skin to healed tattoo.

If you're struggling with muddy colours, overworked skin, or results that look great fresh but fall apart healed — this series was built with those problems in mind.

This is not for beginners. A working knowledge of tattooing is required. If you're still learning the fundamentals, this isn't the right fit yet.

What's Inside

Colour Realism Theory and Breakdown — Aaron Olaguivel Part 1

The Theory Available Now

Sit-down recorded sessions with screen share

The foundation behind Aaron's approach — how he thinks before he even picks up the machine.

  • Design & Composition
How Aaron plans a piece before anything else. Where things sit, how they flow with the body, what works and what doesn't.
  • Technique & Colour Theory
How colour actually behaves in skin. How to layer it, build depth, and push colour without overworking. The part that took Aaron the longest to figure out — and it's all here.
  • Client Instruction
What Aaron tells clients before and after the session. How a tattoo is cared for directly affects how it heals — and in realism, healing is everything.
Part 2

The Breakdown Available Now

Pulled directly from the recording sessions

The practical side of how Aaron works.

  • Machine, Ink & Needle Setup
Exactly what Aaron uses — his settings, his needle preferences, and the reasoning behind each choice. Not generic recommendations. Specifically what works for how he tattoos.
  • Photography & Lighting Guide
How Aaron documents his finished work. Equipment, lighting setup, positioning. A great tattoo photographed badly is still a bad photo. This section covers how to show your work the way it deserves to be seen.
Colour Realism Full Process 3-Day Session — Aaron Olaguivel Part 3

The Process

A full colour realism tattoo recorded over three days

  • Day 1 — Design & First Layers
    Available Now
Aaron walks through the design, explains his plan, and starts laying the first layers.
  • Day 2 — Building the Depth
    Available Now
Picking up where Day 1 left off. Building depth, pushing colour, refining.
  • Day 3 — Final Pass & Completion
You'll be notified as soon as the video is available.
The final pass. Completing the piece.
  • Healed Shot
You'll be notified as soon as the video is available.
This is the part most courses skip. We waited. We photographed it healed. Because a tattoo isn't finished the day it's done — it's finished when the skin settles and the real result shows.

Day 3 and the Healed Shot are taking a bit longer than expected due to a scheduling conflict between Aaron and the model. You'll be notified as soon as the video is available.

About Aaron

Aaron Olaguivel has been tattooing since 2010 out of Omom Tattoo Studio in Pasay City, with a focus on colour realism.

He started running in-person seminars in 2024. Artists would come in, spend a full day learning — going through technique, colour theory, and design composition, then watching a live tattoo demo from start to finish. Some came back more than once — not because they were told to, but because they kept finding value in going deeper.

But not everyone can travel to Manila. Some are in the provinces. Some are outside the Philippines entirely. This series is Aaron's way of making the same knowledge available to artists regardless of where they are.
